BaoBae means treasure or darling in Chinese – a fitting name for our husband-and-wife venture rooted in love for food and hospitality. Dan brings decades of restaurant experience, while May adds a sharp eye for business and guest experience. Together, we're excited to bring bold, modern Chinese cuisine to Zurich.
Led by Chef Dan Shu (Gaijin Izakaya, Old Inn, & Tsukasa), we serve elevated Chinese food inspired by diverse regional flavors and reimagined through a modern lens. From fiery Sichuan to delicate Cantonese influences, our menu celebrates China’s rich diversity and every dish is a tribute to Chef Dan’s roots and culinary creativity.
